April 14

OBSERVATION: Several years ago we watched the progress of a man who was building a serpentine rock wall in front of his house on 250. It was obviously a job that was important to him, and he did a good job. During one of the storms that took down a bunch of trees, the one in the man's front yard fell very close to the house without hitting the rock wall. But last week as we drove down 250, we saw that the whole thing was gone---house, tree stump, and rock wall---in preparation for the bypass interchange. It was a reminder to me that we need to be careful about how much time and effort we put toward things that won't last. We're getting excited about the prospects of working to support things of an eternal nature.
